Athlete of the Week
Friday night, junior captain quarterback Brendan Fitzpatrick led the Eagles football team to a 55-6 win over Newport. He had 175 passing yards and threw for 3 of the Eagle touchdowns. Congrats on being named Athlete of the Week Brendan!
Highlights of the game included touchdowns from Jeremy Ness, Kamran Ness, Steen Smith, Connor Rahn, Jackson Privratsky and Jake Gross.
The defense had great performances from Hunter Hedlund with 3 tackles, Kamran Ness with 2 tackles and 4 assists and Josh Riddle with a tackle, an assist and an interception.
The Eagles will quickly turn the page to focus on a game at Dayton this Friday night. Dayton is currently 3-1 in league, while SC remains undefeated at 4-0 (5-1 overall.)
Boys Soccer Splits
The boys soccer team had split results this week with a 4-2 home win over Pleasant Hill on Tuesday and a tough 0-4 loss at Creswell on Friday night. Max David pulled double duty playing in both the soccer game at Creswell and then kicking for the football team for the second half of the home game vs. Newport. This week, the boys take on East Linn Christian on the road, and then Thursday at 6 pm, come out to support the boys for senior night at home vs. Siuslaw/Mapleton. Good luck Eagles!
Girls Soccer
This week in league play, the girls soccer team took a tough 0-4 loss at Pleasant Hill. Tomorrow, October 15, please come out and support the seniors in their last home game at 6:30 vs. Sisters. Good luck Eagles!
Cross Country sees big PR
Volleyball picks up 3 league wins
Last Tuesday, SC volleyball hosted a 3 way league night with Scio and Jefferson.
In the first match, the Eagles beat Scio 3-1 and then swept Jefferson 3-0.
Thursday, SC hosted Amity and made quick work of them, sweeping the match 3-0.
Stat leaders for the week were: Joya Euhus led with 60 kills, 44 digs and 4 aces over the 3 matches. Allison Curtis added 38 kills, 25 digs and 8 aces. Setter Lexie Boshart had 99 assists and 23 digs and libero Lucie Vigil had 28 digs, 9 assists, and 6 aces. Great job girls!
With two weeks remaining in league play, the #4 Eagles will look to finish strong heading into post season. Come out to support the team this Thursday at 6:30 at home vs. Taft. Then on Saturday at 1 pm, come cheer at another home match vs. Cascade Christian.
Cheer All-State Finals
All-State Individual Team competition
Santiam Christian Varsity Cheer is participating in the 2024 All-State cheer selection.29 cheerleaders in the Oregon 3A division submitted a choreographed video routine last week, 18 girls were selected to represent the 3A division in the finals. Santiam Christian submitted 7 entries and ALL 7 of the girls were selected to advance to the finals this Saturday, October 19th at South Albany high school! They will each be performing individually this Saturday. The top 6 participants in 3A will be selected for the All-State team. Please take a moment to congratulate these girls on their hard work to earn their spots to compete this weekend
All-State Stunt Group Competition
SC Cheer will also be sending 2 teams of 5 girls to compete in a 4A/3A stunt group competition. They will be looking to defend their Championship from last year!
